Who is included in the directory?
The Human Services Directory is a comprehensive
listing of all the private non-profit and public human service programs
in Tooele, Salt Lake, and Summit Counties. Currently there are more
than 700 listings .Please see "Sample Page" for a detail
of the information that is listed for each agency.
Why is the directory price so high?
Why don't you sell this great directory for more money?
211 Info Bank is a private non-profit program that relies on donations
to continue providing free services to the community. We base the
price of and sell the directory for the amount that we need to cover
the costs associated with the printing, publication, and updating
of the directory. Some consumers believe we should sell the directory
for no less that $100.00, others suggest we should give it out for
free. We feel our price is fair for the amount of information listed.
I work at a non-profit program; can I get
the directory for free or get a discount?
211 Info Bank understands exactly why you ask this question.
We too take every opportunity to solicit an in-kind donation. Lamentably
we cannot provide free copies or discounts to other non-profits.
We believe the purchase of this directory is a good use of your
donated funds and that the price is reasonable. The purchase of
this directory will allow your agency to provide higher quality
service to your clients and customers .Please remember that you
can always access, at no charge, the information in the directory
by searching the online
version or calling our office at 211.
When is the directory updated?
Changes occur daily in the directory and we work full time to ensure
the accuracy of the listings. All of the changes since the most
recent publication are included on the "Update"page. Updates
for previous publications are not available; it is best to purchase
a newer edition. You can also access the update information by contacting
our office or searching the online version.
How often is the directory printed?
The Human Services Directory is typically published every other
year.
Who uses the directory?
The directory is a standard reference guide used among providers
of various health and human services. Many physicians, social workers,
government employees, clergy, human resource departments, employee
assistance programs, and counselors, use the directory to help their
clients, customers, and patients, access additional resources in
the community. Some individuals also purchase the book to become
more familiar with community resources.
I don't need all that information found
in the directory, is their something less comprehensive?
211 Info Bank also publishes a series of resource
lists that are targeted to specific populations that need resources.
These resource lists are one and two page details of some of our
most requested phone numbers. The lists are updated every six months.
Are there other directories likes yours
in other areas?
Many Information and Referral programs across the nation publish
similar directories. Please contact our office to find more about
the programs that may be located in other areas. You can also visit
our national affiliate at www.airs.org.
What if a particular program is not listed?
There may be a number of reasons that a particular program is not
listed. Some programs are new and may not be listed in the print
form, but may be found on the "Update" page or in the
online version. Other programs may be discontinued or no longer
providing services. 211 Info Bank also limits listings to public
or private non-profit programs that are directly related to human
services. This policy may exclude some general non-profit programs.
If you have a suggestion or question about the inclusion of certain
programs, please contact our office.
